The Atlas Direct insurance plan does not have any deductibles, copays, or coinsurance.
That is because it is a fixed-indemnity insurance plan that pays predetermined dollar amounts directly to covered persons for covered events rather than a traditional major-medical plan that pays providers whatever amounts are not paid as deductibles, copays, or coinsurance by the covered person.
Since the predetermined dollar amounts paid by fixed-indemnity policies are entirely independent of the amounts billed by healthcare providers, there is no need to keep track of deductibles, copays, or coinsurance as a way of “splitting the bill” between the insurance company and the insured person.
If it's covered and it happens, Atlas Direct’s insurance plan will pay the predetermined dollar amount directly to the covered person, who is then free to use the money in any way they wish.
In addition, please note those predetermined amounts will be paid (1) regardless of what providers charge for their services and (2) independently of what any other insurance you may have may decide to pay providers for covered events.
