There is no need to worry in this situation because Atlas Direct’s insurance coverage is issued in one-year increments.

That means that if you have been issued Atlas Direct coverage, we will not be asking again about whether you are under DPC care until your annual renewal a year later.

It is important to remember, though, that Atlas Direct’s insurance plan is sponsored by the Direct Care Foundation and that in order to renew Atlas Direct, you must remain a Patient Member in good standing with the Direct Care Foundation. To do that, you will have to attest at the time of renewal that you are either currently under the care of a Direct Primary Care provider or that you expect to be within 60 days.

Once a renewal is issued, however, we will not be asking you about your DPC care again until the following renewal time a year later. Thus, there is never any reason to worry about having an existing one-year coverage period canceled due to your DPC provider discontinuing service or due to your losing access to DPC entirely.
