Atlas Direct’s insurance plan has absolutely no geographic restrictions for covered services that are received anywhere in the United States.
With respect to medical services received outside the United States:
- The Atlas Direct insurance plan will not pay for medical tourism to other countries.
- The Atlas Direct insurance plan will only cover claims for medical services received outside the United States if they involved injuries or illness that required immediate medical attention and for which treatment could not be delayed until after returning to the United States.
- Any restrictions or limitations of coverage that apply within the United States will also apply in other countries.
Please refer to your own coverage documents—including the Certificate of Coverage and Schedule of Benefits—to see the limitations and/or restrictions that will apply in your case regarding what sorts of claims are valid when traveling abroad.
